Families and Youth Project
The Families and Youth Project works with families, young people and children who have come to Australia on refugee or humanitarian visas. The project provides casework, referrals and information sessions with the aim of providing a coordinated approach to services to address the settlement needs of the family as a whole and help families to better integrate into Australian society. The project also works in partnership with the community, schools, and relevant service providers in order to strengthen relationships with families, build their capacity, and increase their access to information and services. Some of the programs organised include: citizenship classes, employment training and education programs, workshops targeting intergenerational issues, social support groups, and sessions to help families access mainstream services.
