Settlement Grants Program (SGP)

Community Development Project – Focus on African Communities

The African Community Development Project works with African communities in Central Western Sydney to address settlement issues, organise events and projects, connect with services, as well as advocate for and promote their communities positively. The project aims to strengthen communities, build capacity and assist with integration into the broader community. Some of the programs organised by the African Community Development Officer include: cross-cultural awareness training for service providers, community consultations, workshops to address inter-generational conflict and family harmony, sessions to assist community groups with securing funding, community education projects (housing & financial management) and a mentoring program.
