Aims, Vision, Objectives and Constitution

The Hills Holroyd Parramatta Migrant Resource Centre is a community based, non-profit organisation established to promote the well being of migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants living in the local government areas of Baulkham Hills, Holroyd and Parramatta.  The Hills Holroyd Parramatta MRC provides free settlement information and referral and other services to all migrants and refugees without discrimination.

The centre has a variety of funding sources; however it receives the majority of its funding from the Department of Immigration, Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs.  The Hills Holroyd Parramatta MRC is managed by a community based Board of Management.  The Centre Manager oversees the day-to-day functioning of the organisation and is responsible to the Board of Management.

The Hills Holroyd Parramatta MRC coordinates the development and provision of services for newly arrived migrants and refugees and offers free services such as:

Settlement advice and information
Assistance by multilingual staff
Community development projects
Use of conference and meeting rooms
Training courses
Referral to government and other services in the area
Access to phone, photocopying and Internet for job seekers
Assistance to unemployed migrants
English classes and first aid courses
Assessing community needs and assisting relevant services to address them

Our Vision is to be a facilitator to newly-arrived and emerging migrant communities in the Baulkham Hills, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas in NSW, empowering and asisting them through specialised service provision to meet their settlement needs, eventually to become self-sufficient and happy members of the Australian Community.

Our Mission is to establish an appropriate organisational structure, enlivened by sensitive and interactive policies and procedures that will support desired results in the key areas of activities identified and undertaken to empower and assist the emerging migrant communities to become self-sufficient and happy members of the communities in the Baulkham Hills, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas of New South Wales.
